Maintaining a Positive Attitude

Maintaining a Positive Attitude
Positive Attitude

Hello lovely readers! I am excited to be writing again. There have been many changes going on in the past two years in my personal life (a death in the family, as well as yet another move). But now things are settling down, so I should be able to write posts much more regularly. Please look forward to it! ^^

Every day we have to deal with the health implications of having Turner Syndrome. What can we do to maintain a positive attitude, despite the challenges of life, on top of having a health problem like Turner Syndrome?

Here are 3 things I have been trying to do to keep positive:

  1. Take Care of Yourself

Take the time to care for yourself, to do those things our doctors tell us to do…get frequent and regular exercise, getting lots of deep sleep, eating a healthy diet, and taking your supplements and hormones. For us ladies with Turner Syndrome this may be even more complicated or more work to do than it is for most. But every little thing you do to take care of your body goes a long way and adds up. 🙂 You will feel much better mentally, emotionally, and physically.

  1. Count your Blessings

No matter what may be happening in your life or what health challenges you face, there are always more good things than bad. Life itself is such a blessing! Taking a few moments every day to sit down and really think about what you have to be thankful for is a great mood booster. My husband and I do this every morning to get in the right frame of mind for the day ahead.

  1. Surround Yourself with Happiness

What we take in affects us, whether that be through conversation, movies, books, music, or anything else. Chose to surround yourself with positivity, both in your choices in entertainment and people. Be a positive influence yourself!
These are just a few of many things we can do to stay positive. If you have any other suggestions that help you, feel free to share them in the comments section! I hope you enjoyed this and have a happy day! 🙂

  1. Hi ~

Just received your blog post today and it was excellent. My daughter has TS and I would love to get your book asap! The problem is that we lost our Kindle. I have an Ipad but don’t see your book on ITunes.

Is there a way we can read it on a laptop?

Thank you so much. Looking forward to more posts, there is so much you mention which my daughter is dealing with. It seems overwhelming at times so we’re so happy to read about you and ways you have found of dealing with some of the issues.

    1. Hello Ellen! Thank you so much for your comment. I am so happy to hear that you and your daughter found the post helpful!
Oh no! I don’t know about on the laptop, but I know there is a Kindle App for ipad. You can download that from the app store and read kindle books on your ipad. 🙂 However, I am going to be coming out with a new (more professional and up to date) book some time this year, so you might want to wait and buy that one when it becomes available!
It was so wonderful to hear from you and I will continue to work hard to write more helpful articles for my fellow TS butterflies and their families.
